ABOUT ME

Fascinated by hearing the opening riff of Deep Purple's "Black night" at age 10, Cormac would be hooked on music. Starting with classical guitar, moving on to learning every blues/rock solo by the likes of Hendrix. Clapton, Peter Green it would become a life long passion. It was inevitably going to be the only life/career option even if interrupted by every job from bartender to forester to chemist, it was only a matter of time before he would manage to make it a full time career. 

Firstly being a sideman, electric guitar hero, he moved into funk and indie areas, all the while honing his songwriting, teaching,touring constantly, solo and in bands around Ireland, UK and Europe.

Seeing the production/mixing "skills" of engineers he decided to take a passion for recording and set up his own studio,The Jute Factory because, "Why not?Lots of cool flashing lights thingies!". Production was where his head was at and he carved a distinctive niche first with Irish Acid Jazz pioneers, "Fourteen" and then with alternative indie group, "Duped".




Cormac moved to Tampa, FL in 2014, and has managed to straddle the indie and local rock scene. The songs are well written, polished which only comes with airing them at countless cover and original shows. 

His latest project /band, "The heartweights" are based in Tampa, and have already released 4 singles and an EP., "The Jute Factory EP" to great acclaim.

The next EP, "Burn after listening" scheduled for release on all streaming platforms, September 2023.
